About Calistoga
Located in the far north of Napa County, Calistoga has a laid-back atmosphere. Best-known for its plentiful spas, mud baths and warm springs, their wine, culinary and historic accommodations are just an added bonus to your new Mediterranean lifestyle. Calistoga is a relaxed town compared to the rest of the Napa Valley and with easy lodging and a bicycle rental shop right in town, it’s a tranquil place to have a car-free weekend to unwind from the city or to vacation with the family.
The small town’s main drive hosts an eclectic variety of boutique shops, wine tasting experiences, and eateries. The proud locals actively participate in community events, including the annual 4th of July parade. Parents are dedicated to the success of the local school district and the small-town, old-world feel and accommodations are apparent throughout the beautiful wine-country town.
Based on the weather, the best time to visit Calistoga is in the spring and fall, and surprisingly it can be the hottest spot in the entire valley on a summer day (because it’s furthest away from the cool air in the San Francisco Bay).
The diverse home styles can range from smaller, older houses near the city’s downtown to multiple-acre countryside estates with vineyard hillside views.
